Its a bottomless pit but it will be repaired in a day.
Above, a story in soil layers. You can see how it evolved. It starts at the bottom with muck and fill, then a 12" gravel layer, than a 10" soil layer topped off with 10" of more gravel. This was a low bog at one point. Soil layering never lies.
