This weeks forecast is shaping up to be much like last. Temperatures will be slightly warmer with things almost reaching into the 80's during the day while only dropping to the low 60's overnight. There will be a slight chance of rain everyday and even into the weekend as well. Most of these storms will more than likely be pop up showers during the afternoon and evening and will have the potential to be heavy at times.
On the golf course this week we will be continuing to verticut greens and approaches on the golf course. Greens will be verticut Monday afternoon, while approaches will be done on Tuesday afternoon. Greens will be done again later in the week, weather permitting. Below there is an article that describes a few of the benefits of verticutting or vertical mowing. Along with verticutting, we will be making our bi-weekly soils application. As mentioned before, this is called a soils application given that after it is applied it is watered in. This allows the products to reach the root zone of the plant. This application contains a fertilizer, wetting agent, and a preventative fungicide for pythium diseases. Please continue to check back through the week for any updates on your golf course!
