Tuesday Update

I'm happy to report all sediment from #15 pond is removed and placed on the adjacent pond bank, where it is de-watering and being hauled off site by way of dump trucks.  The plan is to start the new stand pipe, valve and new culvert pipe installation later this week. We are looking forward to getting this behind us and seeing water back in the pond. It's been an ugly site since September.  Dredging, regardless of how it's done, is a mess.

Above: A gravel road was cut into the grass area between Hummingbird Lane and the Pond.  This allows us to back dump trucks to the pile of sediment, where it can easily be loaded and hauled off.

Above, the arrow is pointing to bed rock! The mound next to the excavator is not sediment, rather it's rock! The unit itself, is also sitting on solid rock. That is the deepest #15 pond can get without extensive rock removal.

Above and Below: Concrete is being poured to create a foundation for the small log cabin/potting shed we will be getting later this winter. Check out a few posts below to catch up on the kind donation made by Club members on North Hemlock Drive, who are renovating a home and getting rid of a small cabin that sits on the property. This structure will add to the ambiance of the Highlands CC Farm.

Below: Here is a photo of said cabin, if you haven't seen prior posts. The structure is 16' deep by 8' wide.
