This is something that has always been a pet peeve of mine for years. The proper term is GREENKEEPER...no S. In Scotland, the term came about because this person was responsible for everything that is green...not just 18 individual greens. Therefore, it is GREEN Committee, Green Staff, Greenkeeper, USGA Green Section, Green Chairman. Adding a S is silly...think about the USGA rule referring to 'Through the Green.' Imagine saying 'Through the greens!' It simply doesn't make sense!
