Golf Course/Highlands Update

After another day of clean up, I'm happy to say our team has a majority of trees and larger debris cleaned off the golf course.  We will continue more cleanup and start returning to mowing where it is dry enough to do so.  For the past two days, we even had the help of Holt, from the Golf Shop, picking up limbs and helping with the cleanup effort.  The golf course is still scheduled to open Tuesday, but I can't stress enough that we still have a lot of work to do and will be chipping away at it (no pun intended) for the next 2-3 weeks.

With the storm officially over, total rainfall from the event was 18.35".  Total September rainfall was 21.85".  Year to date, we are up to almost 79" of rainfall.

I heard this morning that it looks like it's going to be a few more days before power is restored, unfortunately.  Duke Power will be coming to town tomorrow to begin work on transmission lines but the town remains a total mess. Talking to some firemen who have talked to lineman, its sounding more like it will be mid-late week before power returns.

Tune in tomorrow for any new updates and information I learn from the Town.
