If you have interest in how we maintain the approach turf at Highlands CC, here is a great piece from the USGA that talks about how these areas should be managed and maintained. Note the recommended height of cut for creeping bentgrass approaches is 0.180" to .250". At HCC, we maintain our approaches at .250", or 1/4".
