A friend and fellow Super in Pennsylvania recently shared some photos on his Twitter account of a service he had come in to spray weeds in his native fescue areas. In these areas on his course, you definitely can't get a sprayer in the them, nor would you want to because it would mat down the grass, leaving unsightly tire tracks that could be seen from a distance. The same goes for having an employee walk all these areas...it would take away from the natural look. Since the weeds are being spot sprayed, there is no need for a large tank. It appears this drone has a 1 or 2 gallon tank mounted below it and the operator controls power to the nozzles from the remote control. This is a pretty cool example of how technology is being used on golf courses.
