On Tuesday, our new fairway seeded was delivered. This is the machine that we are going to start to use aggressively on fairways and approaches to introduce newer bentgrass varieties. This machine hooks to the back of a tractor. As it moves along the fairway, a series of discs create troughs and seed drops down the plastic tube, from a hopper mounted just above. The seed then falls into the trough created by the discs on the machine. As new varieties of bentgrass germinate, the hope is for those species to out compete the older, leggy varieties of Bentgrass that is growing on our fairways. I am certain that over time, you'll notice great benefit from this commitment.
