Friday

We are inching closer towards opening day and continue to focus on the details around the property that need addressed prior to April 7th.  Mulch and pinestraw is being applied daily, a task that consumes half of our team.  The other half of the team is working tirelessly to finish up the Graden Verticutting on the putting greens.  On Monday, we are expecting a final load of sand that will allow us to finish the greens on the back nine and the practice facility.

We are spraying greens weekly now to give them a shot of fertilizer each week to promote the healing process following spring aeration.  While the fertilizer applications certainly help, it is ultimately the temperatures that dictate how fast the greens heal from verticutting.  If we're are fortunate to continue to get night temperatures in the 45-50*F range, we will be looking good in no time.

One of the many details we're focused on is being sure the creeks and drainage ditches on the golf course are clean and free of sticks and debris.

On #4, we are re-squaring up the tees on #4.  Our final load of sod is coming on Thursday of next week.

Hap is sporting his eye protection this morning.  It takes a little while to train a dog to wear sunglasses like this.  Not only do they offer sun protection, but in the case of Border Collies in the Goose business, they offer eye protection should a goose get defensive.  Plus, they look pretty cool.
