After more than a year of maturing, the nursery green at the back of the practice facility provides interesting insight into how several popular bentgrass varieties perform. The yellow quadrant above, is the variety ‘Pure Distinction’ which appears to be the most dense and finely textured grass of the 8 bentgrass species we’re testing. Pure Distinction is a Penn State developed variety like the Penn A4 that is currently on HCC putting greens.
