Irrigation Sprinkler Heads

Over the last couple years, this is one of the newest trends with sprinkler head manufacturers.  By mounting a three inch deep "cup" above the sprinkler head, and burying the head 3" deeper, you can fill the cup with soil and grow grass that is flush with the surrounding turf when the sprinkler head is in the off position.  To the golfer, no irrigation is visible around the greens.  In the past, venues like Augusta National, place a round section of artificial turf over the sprinkler head to make them less visible on television and also prevent a golf ball from coming to rest on the sprinkler head.
