Verticutting Greens

Today is the final verticutting and sand topdressing of the year. We will be lightly topdressing greens and approaches once the grass is completely dry. We have DryJect scheduled for November 5 & 6th which will finish out our Agronomic programs for the year.  In late March 2019, we will be doing a traditional core aerification as well as an aggressive Graden Verticutting that is backfilled with sand. With our greens now over 20 years old, it is crucial that we remain aggressive on managing organic matter. If we don’t, our USGA spec greens will fail resulting in the need to close the course to rebuild- a project that would cost in the $1 million range. It is also critically important that we get this work done prior to the ground freezing.
