We are able to get a mower on several of the fescue banks which makes it much easier than string trimming the entire bank. Again, this is part of the annual mowing of fescue beds and wildflower areas. These areas are a mixture of fine fescue; specifically chewings, hard and sheeps fescue. These grasses originated in Europe where they grow native. They are a low maintenance and very attractive alternative for difficult to maintain and out of play areas on the golf course. Their use is becoming more popular as golf courses try reduce maintained acreage of turf in an effort to conserve resources.
