Today we awarded Fernando Dominguez with our first ever golf maintenance employee of the month award- a certificate and a $100 prepaid Visa card. This program was recently implemented as a fun way to keep the team engaged at a time of year when everyone starts to get tired. As someone who wasn't a huge fan of employee of the month awards (I felt they are too frequent which causes the award to loose its appeal) Chad convinced me otherwise with a plan to keep this fresh and exciting. The award is given to someone who goes out of their way to better the golf experience at Highlands CC for our members and guests. There are times we will strategically place a broken limb or a piece of trash and then observe who takes the time to pick it up. It is through 'tests' like this, as well as how the individual relates to the team and supports his/her coworkers that lead to being selected as our "employee of the month." We started talking the program up in September and it definitely added excitement to the fall season in our department. Stay tuned for future team players of the month!
