This is pretty interesting...when we think of grass as a whole, most think golf courses would be the number one industry segment purchasing sod. However, golf courses only account for 9% of sod purchases while landscape contractors and homeowners combine for a total of 77.7% of all sod bought in North Carolina. I mentioned before, golf courses account for less than 1% of grassed land area in the US. The other 99% of turf use are home/business lawns and sports fields.
