Today, the Golf Architectural Committee (GAC-chaired by Dr. Jimmy Davis) met with Golf Course Architect, Kyle Franz. Franz, based out of Pinehurst NC, is known for his work with several Ross designed courses and is being considered at Highlands CC as the Club’s ‘architect of record.’ After Kyle toured the course with members of the GAC, members of the green committee gathered at 3:30pm to meet Kyle. Kyle Franz is one of 4 architects being considered for this role. While we aren’t interested in any large scale projects, it’s important we have a go-to person to consult with concerning any and all minor projects on the course. For example, the new Hudson House rebuild will require the relocation of the cart path in front of the building. This person will help guide us on the specifics of such a project so it is done in keeping with the character and quality of the rest of the Golf Course.
