Last night's snow and high winds actually blew some of the sod off of the target greens. We are hoping the temperatures get high enough today to thaw the frozen ground and allow us to fix this. This is just another example of how challenging the weather has been this winter. The wind last night also created more debris on the golf course, requiring us to do another round of clean up (this will be the 3rd time). Another key challenge we have is labor. With the seasonal help not returning until the 1st week of April, that leaves 9 of us to accomplish clean-up, mowing as needed, mulching and pinestraw. This is all at a time of year when we could keep 30 staff members going strong.
