Our work is never done...

One of the great things about being a golf course superintendent, is that the work is never done.  If mother nature throws a curveball and we can't get out on the course as is the case with this last snow event, I have a list a mile long of things we can do when we change gears.  One such project is something I've been wanting to do for the past year- replace the steps on the front of the maintenance building.  A good golf course superintendent is one who has the knowledge to handle a variety of tasks through a broad knowledge base.  Personally, I've always been grateful to be raised by a father, an electrical engineer, who involved me in projects around the house as a kid.  This is where I gained a lot of valuable experience when it comes to things like electrical troubleshooting, basic carpentry and other tasks that I feel make me well rounded.  In addition, the amount of talent on this staff is incredible with the varying backgrounds whether it's mechanical, fabricating or even plumbing.  There isn't much we can't do when you factor in our collective knowledge.  It's a team effort!
