This is a pretty interesting article about a man who suffered permanent eye damage in 1962 from staring at the sun. That part seems like common sense. What was more interesting is that a cell phone's camera can be damaged by the sun as well. If you plan to take pictures of the eclipse, this advises you to put those NASA approved glasses over your camera lens claiming the sun can damage it just as it can your eyes.
