We are working on the once a year project of trimming the Euonymus hedge (AKA: Burning bush) that surrounds the 5th tee. We'll have to get fairly aggressive with the hedge which won't be a problem given the aggressive growth habit of this shrub. There is a chance, working through the green committee, of replacing the hedge with something more suitable for the area as well as something native. Burning bush is on the invasive species list in Western NC. Granted, it's a hardy, indestructible plant that lives in any type of environment. It's something we'll be studying in the coming months. They have grown too large for the space.
