Last night exceeded the expectations of nasty weather that was predicted. 60mph winds and a dusting of snow created a mess in parts of Highlands. Several areas on the golf course need cleaned up again, after spending the last 4 weeks on it. Many tree limbs are down and the crew is working out in this weather, doing our best to make it playable for our "soft opening" tomorrow. Clean up isn't as effective today as winds are still gusting to 40mph. With the wind chill, temperatures feel like 14*F, according to the weather report this morning. The high temperature today is supposed to reach 43*. Please keep this in mind if you are planning to golf this weekend and take advantage of the soft opening. By next week, temperatures should be back up in the 60's. Below, you can see where the winds took out a telephone pole on Cobb Rd. My goal is to blow fairways this weekend, and be ready to regroup on Monday and hopefully be able to get the course mowed out.
