Above, you can see the signs of a quick solid tine aeration on fairways. The reason for this is to hit area that are very dry and repelling water. Once soils become dry, they can become hydrophobic, meaning they repel water. Creating a hole every so often allows us to rewet the soil to be sure the turf remains healthy. These marks won't last- they will disappear after a mowing or two. If it wasn't for this drought, this would not be needed this time of year.
On #10 (below) to oxygen diffusers were added to the pond. This will help with the overall pond health as well as our trout population. This was much needed! It also gave me an opportunity to hard wire it, getting rid of the ugly 4x4 post and GFI outlet that was on that pond bank. The power is supplied to this pond from a wire that runs from the LEC.
