Trout Population

The current water temperatures range from 76*F to 80*F depending on water part of #10 creek or pond I checked.

The ideal water temperature for trout habitat is 50*F to 61*F, as much as 20*F lower than we currently are!

If possible, limiting fishing at this point is beneficial because a trout simply can not recover from that stress.  We have lost about 7 fish in the creek on #10 during the past 2 days.  To help, we've open the irrigation drain valve at the head of the creek and we are also running a hose into the pond to promote additional water flow during this time of extreme drought in Highlands.
