I wanted to introduce you to some of our seasonal guys this year and tell you a little about them. Given the small town, you might know their parents as most are prominent local people. I am proud of the high school student population we recruited this year. It refreshing to see this hard working bunch because there are times I've began to wonder about this generation. These folks disproved that theory! I'll be introducing more staff in the near future!
Luke Nix is a student at Rabun County High School in GA. He is a hard worker and the son of Lamar Nix. Lamar is the Town of Highlands engineer, and to me, one of the most interesting people to talk to. Luke is a lot like his Dad, hardworking and polite and personally, I sense a future in civil engineering down the road and degree from Clemson!
Sam Hawkins is 15 years old and has an interest in turf management! He is a student at Highlands School and just got his first set of clubs for his birthday. He is the son of legendary Billy Hawkins!
Dylan Vinson, a recent grad of Highlands School is going to attend AB Tech in Asheville this fall. Dylan is a hard worker and very athletic. He is a great soccer player. He is also know for a really nice head of hair. Dylan's Dad is Kevin Vinson, who for a long time owned High Country Photo in Highlands until recently. This is Dylan's 2nd year on the crew.
Corbin Hawkins is our landscape technician this season. This is very smart young man, a recent graduate of Western Carolina University and will be attending veterinarian school this coming year. Corbin is Sam's older brother and again, son of Billy and Sabrina Hawkins.
