New Staff and Energetic Leadership

Cody Herman

There are a couple new faces in the crowd on the Golf Course Maintenance team:

With our team overseeing the practice facility this year, we brought on a couple new faces.  Cody Herman is a native of Altamonte Springs, FL and moved to Franklin, NC at the age of 12.  A good athlete, he proudly served in the US Coast Guard in from 2009-2013.  He did stints at Chincoteague Island, VA and Clearwater, FL.  He is an avid golfer and proud to be part of the team!  We expect big things from him at the practice facility.  His primary task will be tending to the maintenance of the facility on a full time basis.

Tune in tomorrow for an introduction of our other practice facility hire, David Parker.  This duo will serve the membership well!

Matt DeMond

Matt was hired to oversee the Landscape Department.

If I tell you we had a new, energetic employee, you will know exactly who he is when you see him tending to the landscape outside of the Clubhouse this season.  He comes to us from Peachtree City, GA.  Matt has been coming to Highlands for years, as his parents own a cabin in Scaly Mountain.  Matt has a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia (apparently a small school in a town called Athens...not completely sure).  He also proudly served in the US Coast Guard for 4 years and is now really excited to join the team!  Don't believe me? Wait until you ask him...quite possibly the most excited individual I've ever met...and I couldn't be more excited about it.  This guy springs out of bed in the morning to come to work!! I love it!
