This photo shows you the challenges we have with the driving range tee. The top 8" look like a layer cake- the result of thatch build up and topdressing layered on top. We've been aerifying and drill and fill (note the long sand channel) several times a year to open this this up. We've had some success but ultimately the tee will need to be stripped of this material and re-leveled. This is a process that should be accomplished every 5-10 years on a driving range tee.
