Friday Update

The Graden sand injection machine does a wonderful job firming our approaches.  Overtime, this will help tremendously. It is critical to do work like this now because after December 1, I loose 50% of the crew.  Also, projects like this have to be done when the ground isn't frozen and the turf is actively growing.

Above and below, you can see the bunker on the 9th hole.  The turf has encroached 3' on this bunker!  Because of the liner, we are able to determine the original edges and will restore them to the location.

Below, we used sand removed from a bunker to level the new tee on #15.  This tee will be completed next week.  For the tee top itself, we will use sod off of the current #5 Jones tee.  Since it is being enlarged, I plan to resod the new #5 tee with new sod so there isn't a line visible from the old sod.  With only one person able to supply native stone, I have been having a hard time getting it.  I knew this would be a challenge and one reason I wanted to start on this early.
