Today, the lightening alarms on the rain sheds at #5 green and #13 green were moved off of the roofs of those structures and placed on a 12' 4x4 post adjacent the shed. This was done for 2 reasons. One was the safety of those who have to service the sirens and components (no longer have to stand on a wet, steep roof) and two, the rain sheds are going to be re-roofed with new cedar shakes this off season. In addition, the appearance is more attractive as they are slightly hidden from view. Their effectiveness however, remains unchanged.
