Maybe today will be the day! As of today we have yet to receive any rain throughout the entire month of august. This weeks forecast is calling for a 50% chance of rain and clouds today along with a 40% chance tomorrow. The rest of the week remains sunny and dry with temperatures remaining once again in the low 80's. Nighttime temperatures will be back up into the 60's along with a few clouds moving in over the weekend.
This week on the golf course we will continue to utilize the majority of our staff handwatering. This has seemed to be the routine over the past few weeks with such dry weather. Each morning we have 2-3 staff members "setting up" the golf course for the day. This basically means they will water all of the areas we know have the potential to get dry on a daily basis. With the golf course set up properly it allows the 3-4 staff members watering in the afternoon to make laps around the course and water any new areas that may get dry during the afternoon heat. Along with that many of our groves tend to stay dry where multiple tree roots will soak up any water applied, stealing it from the surrounding turf. Other than handwatering most maintenance items this week will be business as usual! Please continue to check back with us through the week for any updates!
