The greens were 'vented' today using 1/4" hollow tines on a 3" spacing. This will ensure putting is minimally affected and the greens will be healed by the weekend. After the holes were made, the greens were blown off, topdressed and then followed by an application of Gypsum. Gypsum is applied weekly as a calcium source. This process allows the greens to continue to drain well and also allow oxygen to the rootzone. Doing this mid-season is crucial for the gaseous exchange in the rootzone.
