Hardin Tunnel

After a few months of good growing weather, the ivy on the north side of the tunnel is very slow to recover.  New English Ivy vines were planted along the top over a month ago to help this area recover.  We still see some new leaf buds breaking on the stems.  We also don't want to simply remove it because it would expose a very unattractive concrete wall.  English Ivy is a noxious weed and will certainly cover this wall before long.  It was another victim of a terribly cold winter.

The south side of the tunnel had the same winter kill issues.  However, it recovered much quicker due to more sunlight exposure and warmer temperatures.
