The membership is making a great effort to use the sand provided on the golf carts. However, remember that the preferred way to repair a bentgrass divot is by replacing it first, stepping it down to ensure good soil to soil contact and then lightly topdressing it with sand. While bentgrass does have 'creeping' properties, it is no where near as agressive as the weed-like growth habit of bermudagrass. Bentgrass is a much more delicate grass and any void is likely established from seed. Therefore, replacing your divot will ensure the area is back in play as quickly as possible. On the other hand, seed establishment would take nearly 12 weeks until that area is an acceptable surface to play from.
