Fine Fescue Beds
Today we are finishing up our annual process of weedeating our fine fescue
beds, this is being done not only to promote density, but also we will
follow this afternoon with an organic fertilizer called milorganite.
Milorganite uses microbes in the soil that break down nutrients to make it plant available, this activity occurs when moisture is adequate and soil temperatures are warmer during spring months. The fine fescue areas on our golf course offer a wide variety of not only aesthetic appeal but a great contrast of light yellows
to a deep green rough, but also offer a great solution to shady or
drought prone locations as well.
