First Frost of Fall!

This morning lows dipped down to 32 degrees. This meant we had pretty heavy frost coverage across the golf course. When the turf is frosty, the individual cells that comprise a grass plant are frozen. If you were to walk on the turf the cells would break and the turf turns a black color. The turf will die until new shoots emerge from the crown of the plant. This is why tee times are delayed on frosty mornings. Your patience is appreciated and required!
