#2 Blue Tee Improvements
#2 blue tee has become a commonly asked about question regarding the wear on it. The tee is too small for the amount of play we get and the fact it is a Par 3 compounds the issue. Furthermore, shade is the other problem. Simply put, it never recovers. The blue-white group has then added to its use. I developed a plan several years ago that would solve a good bit of the problems. By adding 2 retaining walls as shown in the picture, we could enlarge the tee by 400-500 square feet. This would give us more room to move tee markers. The USGA state tee markers must be 2 club lengths from the back of the tee. This means we can only move the tees side to side. Tree removal is another program that would solve the issues with this tee. Until this project can take place, we will continue to resod the tee, annually.
