Course Update

Great weather continues in Highlands with highs in the upper 60's and lows in 40's-50's. This is ideal growing weather for cool season grasses. We continue to mow greens with our triplex until the turf grows through the sand from our aerification processes. By the end of the week, we will be mowing with our walkmowers and hope to begin using grommers within 2 weeks. At this point, we will be working our greens down to their summer height of .125 inches or 1/8th inch. We are currently mowing at .160 to promote faster healing. Establishing a solid root system is key for this time of year. With the above normal temperatures, we are about 3 weeks ahead of normal schedule.
