The Passing of Chuck Craine

This year marked the passing of an HCC icon.  Chuck Craine worked at Highlands CC since the age of 11, when he came to work with his father.  He recalled building the original dam on club lake that year, pouring the entire thing by hand!  That dam held strong until the state of NC required required us to resurface the dam in 2009! Chuck served as Superintendent for a number of years in the 1970's.  Chuck essentially worked up until his death mowing rough at HCC.  I have a number of great memories and Chuck will not be forgotten.  In November of this year, the Golf Maintenance building was renamed in him memory...a take off of the Bascom's pottery barn where Chuck was raised.
