Monday


Above, the 10-foot deep sink hole is now a distant memory.  The hole was filled and layered with various size gravel; each gravel size bridged the size below it.  While another sink hole is a real possibility, this specific area is taken care of.  The sink hole is created by ground water.  I could get down in the hole and use a 6' piece of pipe to reach down to the bottom.  At a 10 foot depth, the soil was "soupy."  I'm sure the whole fairway is like that as well.  
  

It was a chilly start (31*F) to an otherwise beautiful day in Highlands.  Fairways are receiving their 2nd cut of the year in addition to the intermediate rough.

More fairway soap flushes, scouting for Annual Bluegrass Weevil (ABW), brought a couple to the surface but not near enough to warrant any kind of chemical treatment.
