Monday

This morning, we got started on two good size drainage projects on the 15th hole.  The first is on the lower portion of the approach.  The 2nd area is at the end of the fairway, where golf carts usually exit the fairway onto the cart path.  Keeping these ditches wide and deep will ensure we are able to collect both ground water and also surface water through the use on inlet basins.

While digging, we dig hit a major spring that was probably the cause of the excess water coming to the surface.  These photos just don't do it justice!

In addition to the drainage, we also repaired the cart path that we were forced to remove to replace the rusted culvert.  These photos also give you more of an idea of what was done in this area on #15.

Once we get a load of sod, this area will really look sharp!

Last Friday, we did significant pruning on the Oak trees that line both sides of the tee complex on #17.  I think you'll agree that it is much better now when you see it in person.

It is a slow process, but Cross has about 4 more greens left to deep tine before this is finished for the season.
