Monday

Finally a day without rain!

The irrigation contractor is now on the 2nd and 3rd holes!

Irrigation installation on the practice green and hole #1 is complete.

On Sunday, they completely finished the work on the practice green and #1.  You can see in these 2 photos the quality of the work that Green-Tee Golf does!  There are several great golf course builders in the business but my relationship with Earl Sanders is based his love for working at Highlands and quality of the work he does.  I heard numerous times last spring from members about the low expectations they had when they returned, expecting to see turf not rooted in, exposed and or ditches that settled etc.  In reality, by May 1, you couldn't tell that any work took place on the golf course.  You can expect the same thing this spring as well.  These guys are the best!

On #3, the ditches are being graveled and drainage pipe installed.  Unfortunately we had to cut the cart path in order to get an outfall pipe deep enough to keep water moving downhill.

And on #10, the fairway is being aerified.  Our goal is to have all the fairways aerated and cleaned up by the week of Christmas.  The only thing standing in our way is the weather.  Unless the aeration plugs have time to dry, clean up is very messy and difficult.
