When the weather goes south on us and we can't work outside, there is no shortage of indoor work for our team. We sand down and re-oil all of the benches on the campus from those on the golf course and practice facility to those around the clubhouse. We are in the process of making more entry/exit stakes, new tee markers and refurbishing tee caddies. In total, we spend about a month indoors taking care of this stuff. This year, we are also constructing new trash receptacles using steel and a design we found online. This new idea is designed to rust. The receptacles will be durable as well as blend with the natural landscape. Our wooden, reclaimed lumber receptacles were good, but required continual maintenance. They were also known to break during the season when bears are scavenging for food.
