Member/Guest Week

The wet weather looks like it's going to continue into the next 7 days.  We have a lot on our plate this week...specifically preparing for the 2021 Men's Member-Guest Tournament.  We have 3 days to complete the work that normally requires 5 days, in order to be ready for Thursday's match.

We are just about to the halfway point of the season.  With the intense golf schedule we've been having with tee times booked solid from 8AM t0 even 5PM at times, the golf course is suffering from normal wear and tear.  Excessive cart wear and tear, ballmarks left unrepaired as well as divots that go unreplaced, the golf course is showing the amount of rounds that are being played.  This morning, I asked my team to do their best to avoid worn areas and pay special attention to where they are parking when they mow greens and tees.  I would also like to ask the membership to do the same.  We are doing everything we can to keep the carts off the cart paths to add to the enjoyment of the round.  In return, I ask that you do your part to be sure the golf course is left the same or better than when you found it.  This involves using common sense when you are driving on fairways to avoid low areas.  And of course, replace your divots if it is possible and fix your ballmarks.  I would even encourage you to fix your own plus another unrepaired ball mark you see on the green.  Together, we can maintain excellent conditions through the entire year!

Above, is a photo of the practice tee.  The areas of divots in recovery are from 1 week ago!  That's pretty impressive to me and my hat's off to the Practice facility staff for the job they do, keeping up with the amount of use the facility receives.  I don't think you'll find a practice tee anywhere that has this amount of grass on it, this late into the season.  In addition, we've only been on mats a handful of times.  Just like keeping carts off paths, we want you hitting off natural turf as much as possible.
