#10 Drainage

Our small drainage project on #10 turned out to be a little bit easier than we initially thought.  After removing the sod, we started digging the location of a new catch basin.  We got about 5" below grade and (see above) we hit an old plastic basin.  When this basin was installed and why it ultimately got covered up is somewhat a mystery.  We were able to flush out the 6" outfall line, then extend it 4' to the edge of the creek.  We then regraded the area around the basin to a gentle slope, where water can find its way to the low point.  This project will help remove a large portion of water from the island.
