Wednesday

While the drainage improvement on #12 will be huge, I'm more excited about exposing more of the rock above the fairway.  You can see in these photos how much more 3-dimensional it is compared to being flat in the past.  There is a lot of activity on the 12th hole this week.

On #11, we are removing the awkward rhododendron "pinestraw bed" that sits to the right of the men's tee.  It always looked unkempt and this allows us to grass the area and fix the creek banks behind it.

Gary has been incredibly busy getting load after load of sand applied on the fairways.  The darker lines of sand are an indication that our topdresser is worn out.  It served us well for the last 22 years and it's time for a new model.  Hopefully that will come in the 2022 budget.

All of the spoils from the 11th and 12 hole are being hauled to the area between #14 and #15.  Once the bulldozer finishes on #11, it will come to this area, where the spoils will be included into the shaping of the bank.  Mark my word...this area will be very well received by the membership come April!  It will be phenomenal compared to the look in the past.

Finally...in the history of the entire world, I don't think Highlands, NC ever had a 7-day forecast that had 7 consecutive yellow shiny things like this in a row.  I'll take it!
