Thursday

It was another beautiful day in Highlands with a high temperature of 60F.  It looks like our luck is running out as the forecast turns back to cold and rainy starting tomorrow.

This is the area on #10 that is a challenging spot to drain because we don't have a place to run a drainpipe to with any considerable downhill grade.  We dug down to solid rock to capture the water coming from below the bank.  You can see how much water has accumulated in that ditch in a short time.  We will drain that water back to the stream and then fill the ditch fill with gravel (and 4"  pipe).  In the end, the elevation of the ground will be raised up a foot or more.

Above and Below, is the current state of the former house structure above the farm that is the proposed sight of the new maintenance building.  Below is the guest cottage that once stood next to the main house.

Below are a few shots of the current state of the 11th hole with the soil spread over the area:

The croquet walls are coming along nicely and this lets you get a feel for how the area between the walls will look and the potential for some beautiful landscaping that will break this area up.

Below: The plan is use pervious concrete for the new cart path by the croquet lawn.  Before we commit to it, we wanted to do a small test area to be sure we liked it and to be sure it will be durable enough.

Above and Below: on #5, we are going to start a project next week to clean up the "drainage ditch" on the right side of the fairway.  Our goal is to create more defined edges and make it a look more pleasing to the eye.

On #12, both sides of the cart path were sodded today.
