This afternoon and evening, an effort was made to treat and plow club roads. At 9:30, the plowing was called off because the roads were getting too slick. The plan is to pick back up on plowing and salting roads at 10:00am on Sunday morning, after the temperature rises and the sun is up for a few hours. In the meantime, your patience is appreciated. As of 11:30pm, approximately 4” of snow has fallen in Highlands.
Our team does our best to keep roads cleared in the winter months. However, it’s important to understand that I will not put any staff in a dangerous situation. Clearing ice and snow on steep roads can be dangerous. If our roads were flat, it’d be another story. The safety and well being of our staff is our priority. If you come to Highlands during an weekend when snow is predicted, please relax and enjoy the weather and don’t be in a hurry to leave town. Again, we’ll clean the roads when it’s deemed safe.
