If you like to fish, you'll want to keep reading because I am just as excited about this. Next week, we'll be stocking the ponds on Club property. Stocking while the water is very cold and high in dissolved oxygen content is best for the health of the fish As you know, we've predominantly stuck with rainbow trout, as they are the easiest to find. We've supplemented that over the past 5 years with a largemouth bass population that is thriving in Club Lake. We did a good bit of research this off season and I am happy to report that next Monday and Wednesday we'll be introducing the following species of fish and quantities to the Club Lake:
2,100 13"-14" Rainbow Trout
300 Brook Trout 19" and larger
300 Brown Trout 19" and larger
Stay tuned next week for photos of the stocking. By the time you return to Highlands, the fish will be acclimated and active!
