During the last month, I've had multiple members call me asking about this product, called Topbuxus, as a treatment for boxwood blight. I visited the website to see exactly what the product is comprised of. Topbuxus is a fertilizer product, an 8-0-10 analysis. Properly timed fertilizer applications made at the correct rate, are beneficial to most all plants. Just like a person takes vitamins, having the correct nutrients available can help the body recover from ailments or even strengthen the immune system to ward off diseases. However, they are not 100% fool proof. The same goes for plants and fertilizer. There is no question this product will improve the health of your shrubs, but it is not a substitute for fungicide treatments. Think of fertilizers as nothing more than a tool you have access to. In order to maintain plant health, you need other tools as well. Boxwood blight pressure is so great in our area, there is no substitute for properly timed fungicide applications. Like everything in life, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
