I received this today from a friend- It's a joke meant for those golfers that feel bunkers should play perfectly consistent each and every time. This feeling has become more prevalent over the years to the point many Superintendents spend m0re time and resources maintaining bunkers compared to putting greens. Historically, bunkers were considered hazards which had no standard for maintenance. The point was to punish a poor shot to the tune of 1 stroke; not to set the golfer up with a perfect lie.
