Frost Damage

Check out this boxwood hedge on #7, in the yard of a neighboring property.  What happened?

Answer: The hedge was pruned in early spring.  The pruning stimulated a lot of new growth on the top of the hedge that was ultimately damaged by a late spring heavy frost that occurred just before mothers day.  I often tell people not to get carried away with this kind of maintenance before the 15th of May.  That's a hard thing for many because warm days in March and April, get people thinking they need to be outside working in the yard.
